Founded as a commercial spin-off from the Mid Sweden University, Aim Sweden offers on-demand additive manufacturing (AM) solutions targeting molded fiber production, orthopedics, and industrial use cases. The company also offers pre-printing solutions like generating initial ideas, feasibility studies, design optimization, and process optimization services. Aim Sweden is an ISO-certified contract manufacturer of orthopedic implants on an industrial scale. Aim Sweden uses FreeFlow, a proprietary tooling technology where the tools are made of thin titanium skin, supported by a nylon backing. The titanium skin optimizes the draining properties of the tool, allowing for the development of products from molded fiber (i.e., fibers made with waste paper or other natural fibers). Through this approach, Aim Sweden’s solutions claim to improve product quality, cost efficiency, and the life expectancy of produced parts, also contributing to sustainable manufacturing.
