 <p>Trinseo, a global materials science company based in the US, has launched its polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) depolymerization facility in Rho, Italy. The key technology used in the facility is depolymerization, a chemical recycling process that is able to convert acrylic solutions back into their original monomer, methyl methacrylate (MMA).</p> 
 <p>The facility is equipped to recycle PMMA sheets, which are traditionally non-recyclable. Additionally, the facility can remove contaminants and additives from both used and new acrylic products, thus creating more opportunities for recycling in the future.</p>
