The platform places a focus on spreading esports to smaller gaming communities. Boom.tv runs Code Red, a biweekly esports pro-am series which attracts content creators front Twitch and YouTube. The event is popular on the platform with 2.7 million unique viewers on average as of June 2020. The platform’s live-streaming capabilities allow fans to view instant replays of gameplay and multiple angles. The company's patent-pending technology allows the streaming to render in 3D. 

The company acquired ‘American Video Game League’ which produces collegiate esports competitions in 2019. As of June 2020, over 75,000 content creators are using the platform with over USD 3.9 million in cash prizes across over 11,000 events since September 2018.

The company’s USD 10 million Series A funding round closed in June 2020. The round was led by Bitkraft Esports Ventures. The funding will be used for product development and marketing efforts. The company also raised an undisclosed amount of funds from Intel Capital in December 2020.
