Foundation models that can handle a range of natural language processing (NLP) use cases. Typical tasks include generating summaries, translating, answering questions, and classifying text. These models typically use text inputs and generate text outputs.

Fine-tuned versions of large language models, which are focused on specific tasks and applications (e.g. code generation, medical event prediction, financial NLP tasks, etc). These are usually developed by training LLMs using custom data and also serve as foundation models that can be developed even further. Foundation models that translate visual data based on features and contextual information identified during training. This enables models to interpret images and video, applying those interpretations to predictive or decision-making tasks. Typical tasks include image recognition and classification into categories. <p>SenseTime has released the advanced version of its multimodal model, named SenseNova 5.5. This updated model has improved upon its previous version, SenseNova LLMs, which was acclaimed for its impressive performance, showing a 30% improvement.</p>
<p>In addition to these performance enhancements, SenseNova 5.5 advances with a new feature - an improved and economically feasible large model for Edge computing. This significant advancement has resulted in a substantial cut-down in annual costs, reducing it to a mere RMB 9.90 (equivalent to USD 1.36) for each device. </p>
<p>Notably, the highlights of SenseNova 5.5 do not end at performance and cost-efficiency. According to recent reports, this model has demonstrated superior performance compared to GPT-4 in more than half of the critical benchmarking metrics, specifically in five out of the eight key aspects.</p>
