LocoRobo is a non-profit educational robotics company formed by a university professor (Pramod Abichandani) and his students. The low-cost robot built by the company can be programmed wirelessly through a mobile app for beginners or through various programming languages for more advanced users.
The LocoRobo developers’ goal is to promote science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) among students and to make robotics accessible to different grades. In 2018, the company developed My Loopy, a social robot, to incorporate Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) into the K-2 curriculum in an engaging and interactive way. My Loopy is one of the first robots made for young children and can be used with or without a connected app or additional device.
