Headquartered in the UK, ECOMMPAY offers a payment platform for ecommerce businesses, to facilitate local and cross-border payments for over 100 payment methods. It caters to businesses in a wide range of industries including mobility, hospitality, online gaming, and travel, among others. The company primarily targets medium and large enterprises, and its customers include Yandex Taxi, Dream World Travel, Elkor, and Smartcat, among others. ECOMMPAY is licensed and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and operates with a team of around 700 members based across six locations globally as of June 2021.
The company also launched an open banking solution to allow merchants to accept payments directly from customer bank accounts. This solution was introduced in the UK in September 2020, and expanded to other European nations in December 2020, to enable customers to connect bank accounts in over 2,000 banks in more than 20 European countries (as of January 2022). It enhanced its open banking offering by partnering with an open banking solutions provider, Nuapay in April 2021, to improve and automate the payouts from merchants to customers (such as refunds).
ECOMMPAY partnered with the business intelligence and big data analytics platform, ThroughSpot, in February 2021 to offer more customized solutions for its merchants by leveraging ThroughSpot’s analytics. Moreover, it also partnered with Nium in February 2022, to support ECOMMPAY users’ global expansion by leveraging Nium’s business payout network spanning over 190 countries and 100 different local currencies.
