Worksome is a Denmark-based platform focused on connecting businesses with freelancers specializing in tech, design, management, and finance. The platform initially launched with a focus on tech, but has since expanded its verticals (in Denmark) and also launched in the UK and the US. The platform offers freelancers with skills including web and app development, data science, IT consultancy, and web design. Worksome uses proprietary technology backed by AI for its vetting process to onboard freelancers and also provides companies features for tax compliance, payroll admin, and background and ID checks. In May 2023, Worksome launched new direct sourcing and global independent contractor compliance features to help enterprises compliantly hire and pay contractors worldwide. New features include a survey for global classification and misclassification indemnification as well as improved direct sourcing capabilities for streamlined contracts, onboarding, and payment of talent

As of March 2022, the company’s platform has over 34,000 registered freelancers and 25,000 clients. The company reported 10x growth in revenue from January 2020 to March 2021, benefiting significantly from the pandemic-led shift to remote work. Worksome has reportedly gained traction among medium/large companies that have traditionally used managed service providers (MPS) as it provides comprehensive services on the compliance and payments front, compared to its peers, to facilitate hiring in large numbers.
