Spotangels

SpotAngels is a crowd-sourced parking discovery mobile app that provides a map of different types of parking (free, metered, garages, etc.) available for reservation on an hourly or monthly basis. SpotAngels taps into dashcam videos provided by the community members, which is coupled with computer vision technology, to provide a geographical map of available parking spots. This is then combined with its mobile app, which uses a vehicle's Bluetooth connection or motion sensors on a driver's phone to update the map in real time when a vehicle is entering or leaving a parking spot.

Spotangels is a free-to-use ad-free mobile app. In May 2021, the firm introduced SpotAngels plus, a subscription-based service that offers a number of additional features including calendar reminders, cashback on garage deals, and a USD 20 yearly credit. A subscription costs USD 4.99/month or USD 29.99/year and the firm claims that plus members save USD 181 a year in parking fees. In December 2021, the firm introduced a SpotAngels Ambassador program, where 50% of the plus subscription revenue would go towards rewards to active community members upon completion of certain challenges to help increase the coverage of its service.

Key customers and partnerships

As of March 2022, the platform covered more than 100 cities in the US as well as Toronto and London.

In September 2020, SpotAngels entered into a partnership with WhereiPark, a parking discovery platform for monthly parking, in order to expand its parking network to include more options for long-term parking.
