Founded in Israel in 2016 and launched in the US in 2018, Uniper Care is a platform that promotes an active social life for seniors at home. It offers a TV-kit (which include an inbuilt microphone, and a camera) and mobile solutions to engage seniors in interactive sessions that include health and wellness content, video telehealth, remote assessments, and family communication. The platform also offers virtual social events for seniors to socialize with other users.
Its services are offered through a partnership network of Medicare, Medicaid, Veterans’ Affairs, HMOs, national and local government agencies, and community-based organizations. The platform charges a subscription fee of USD 35 per month and as of July 2021 is available in 15 US states plus Israel.
In December 2020, the company partnered with Sunflower Health Plan, a managed care organization, to combat the loneliness and social isolation that many older adults underwent due to Covid-19. The program also offered telehealth services.
In June 2021, the company reported 6x YoY revenue growth and the closure of a USD 14.5 million Series A funding round led by Aleph and Zeev Ventures to expand to new geographies and expand its managed care, government, and community-based relationships.
