ARA Robotics, founded in September 2014, is a Quebec-based company specializing in drone control and air navigation systems. Their flagship product, the SKYMATE autopilot, is a drone control system specifically designed for commercial and civil drone applications.
In June 2018, ARA Robotics received financial support from PME MTL Ouest-de-l'Île, including a USD 200,000 loan and a USD 15,000 subsidy. This funding enabled the company to accelerate its commercialization efforts, expand its product offerings, and enhance its technological platform.
ARA Robotics has developed a tactical flight coordination system in partnership with OneSky for the Qualia Qualification Site, part of Quebec's Center for Excellence in Drones (CED). This solution combines ARA's UTM (Unmanned Aircraft System Traffic Management) tracking beacon, compatible with various drones, and OneSky's UTM software for flight planning, simulation, operation, monitoring, and post-flight analysis. Providing centimeter-level real-time positioning, the system enables safe drone operations and tracking within the Qualia test range.
Key customers and partnerships
Over the past year, ARA Robotics partnered with OneSky to deliver their remotely piloted aerial system (RPAS) test range solution to the Qualia Qualification Site in Quebec.
