Based in Canada, AON3D is a provider of 3D printers and materials for additive manufacturing (AM). The company offers two types of printers: 1) AON M2+: A printer that is compatible with a variety of temperature-resistant materials like thermoplastics, carbon fiber composites, and high-performance polymers. The printer was further upgraded with independent dual extrusion technology (IDEX) in April 2022 to facilitate duplication-mode and mirror-mode 3D printing (making two of the same part or two mirrored parts simultaneously). This development allowed for the doubling of output in new and existing machines. AON printers are material-agnostic and can be used with over 70,000 commercially available thermoplastic composites or mixes. 2) Hylo: An industrial printer powered by ML-driven software (named Basis). The printer is equipped with a fully automated calibration process with 25+ sensors for in-process monitoring and comes with duplication mode and post-processing-reducing features.
Key customers and partnerships
As of January 2024, AON3D had 20+ customers in various industries. These included lunar exploration startup Astrobotic Technology, US Air Force, US Army, US Department of Energy, and NASA.
In January 2023, the company partnered with AM materials company Kimya to launch AON3D Readyprint filaments and with Evo 3D in February 2023 to bring AON M2+ printers to the UK market.
Funding and financials
In September 2021, AON3D raised USD 11.5 million in Series A funding to expand its team and create a dedicated materials lab.
