Symboticware is a Canadian company specializing in industrial internet of Things (IIoT) solutions for the natural resources sector. The company's flagship product is 4-Sight.ai, an asset performance management platform that collects and analyzes data from heavy and light-duty vehicles, regardless of make or model. This OEM-agnostic IoT platform enables real-time monitoring, data collection, and tracking in remote environments, including mining sites, energy production facilities, and forest management areas. Symboticware's technology aims to improve efficiency, sustainability, and monitoring in industries operating in areas with limited connectivity.
In March 2023, Symboticware announced a partnership with Swarm, a SpaceX subsidiary, to integrate their technologies. This integration allows the 4-Sight.ai platform to transmit data over Swarm's global constellation of Low Earth Orbit microsatellites, providing connectivity in areas without cellular network coverage. The collaboration enables two-way data transfer, allowing users to receive data from Symboticware devices and send commands to fleet operators in response to changing conditions.
In June 2022, Symboticware acquired Palifer, a Silicon Valley-based AI startup. Palifer's deep-learning Natural Language Processing (NLP) AI software generates data from work orders created in natural language. This acquisition aimed to enhance Symboticware's capabilities in reducing unscheduled downtime, preventing unsafe incidents caused by equipment failure, and optimizing maintenance. The Palifer software was integrated into the 4-Sight.ai platform and is being used as the core for a standalone AI platform under development.
