Based in California, Offworld specializes in developing aerospace robotics. As of 2024, it was developing a first-of-its-kind universal industrial robots that can work under human supervision to be purposed for heavy-duty industrial work on the moon, asteroids, and Mars. The company is working toward designing robots that will be traininable for mining in earth, moon, Mars, and asteroids as well as to capture and process space debris. The larger purpose of the company is for expansion of human life beyond earth.
Offworld has a 70,000 sqft facility in California equipped with labs, workshops, and offices and has two other locations in Johannesburg and Luxembourg. In February 2023 , the company began operation of Offworld Europe in Luxembourg, run by Managing Director Kyle Acierno, former CEO of ispace. As its first project, Offworld Europe planned to operate a multi-year program focussed on the developing and deploying robotic technologies for the extraction and storage of volatile resources.
