StreamElements is a live streaming platform which offers tools for content creators to enhance their streams. The platform offers stream management services which includes an activity feed, tipping system and chat integrated to the streamers visual which can be customized using overlays. The platform reported that its streamers received USD 15 million in tips and around USD 1 million in brand sponsorships during 2018.

In September 2021, StreamElements raised USD 100 million in a funding round led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2 with participation from PayPal Ventures and MoreTech. As part of the investment, Nahoko Hoshino (Director, SoftBank) joined StreamElements’ board of directors.

The fresh funds are expected to be primarily funneled into product development, talent acquisition, and expansion into new platforms. Investments in product development include the addition of more video-on-demand content outside of its live-streaming product offering. Some funds will also be diverted into attracting new creators onto the platform, which has 1.1 million users as of September 2021, driving platform usage up 233% between March 2020 and January 2021.

Alongside the funding, several executive changes were also announced, with Gil Hirsch (co-founder, StreamElements) taking over as Chief Executive Officer from Doron Nir (co-founder, StreamElements) who is expected to serve as President. Yuval Tal and Udi Hoffman were named Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, respectively.

StreamElements acquired YouTube network and digital media company Paragon in October 2021. Paragon, a multi-channel Youtube network that includes channels SypherPK, xNestorio, and Kiingtong, offers a range of services to creators, such as content strategy, channel management, rights management, support, and optimization. Through the acquisition, StreamElements hopes to expand its video on demand offerings. Further, the company will discontinue commissions on creators’ standard ad revenue, which is currently part of Paragon’s offering. Creators, part of the Paragon network, will be able to use StreamElements’ tools for broadcasting, monetization, and audience engagement, as well as participate in scaled sponsorship programs.
