Journera is a real-time data exchange platform that allows travel organizations to become a partner and share data on products, services, customers, and other travel-related events with shared customers. The platform facilitates direct data flow between participating organizations, creating a fully-connected travel network. Journera aims to address the "airline-hotel handoff" problem. For instance, when a customer arrives early at a hotel, they can be automatically offered early check-in, triggered by a signal that they have checked in or boarded their flight. Similarly, if they arrive late, their room can be protected with a digital or pre-activated key. Journera provides various ways to onboard data, including its API, file-sharing through cloud technology platforms, turnkey integrations with third-party software applications, and AdTech integration support. 

To provide its solutions, Journera offers three tools: 

1) Journey Aware, which is a marketing tool that uses first-party data from Journera to target travel audiences through personalized messaging; 2) TripSignals, which is a real-time matching tool that provides businesses with information about a shared customer's itinerary, loyalty status, and more to improve travel experiences; and 3) Journera Audiences (launched in December 2022), which uses real-time booking data from large US travel brands to help destinations personalize their marketing and target likely travelers at the customer ID level, based on travel behaviors and purchases. The tool offers filters such as historic bookings, active reservations, and propensity to spend. 

Overall, airlines, hotels, car rental companies, and marketers can use the Journera Platform API to connect with the platform.

Key customers and partnerships

Journera partnered with Impala to allow hotels using property management systems to connect to the Journera platform (January 2020). Journera’s key partners include United Airlines, American Airlines, Hilton, Marriott International, Hyatt, and IHG Hotels & Resorts. 

Customers that signed on to Journera Audiences include Travel Texas, Visit Tampa Bay, Visit Savannah, and The Florida Keys and Key West (December 2022). Other customers that signed on to the Journera platform include 3Sixty Duty Free, Way.com, Exceptional Stays, Parking Access, ShuttleFare (December 2020), and AmTrav (November 2020).

Funding and financials

In June 2022, Journera raised USD 10 million in a Series B-1 funding round led by B Capital, bringing its total valuation to USD 30.6 million.
