LEAD is an employee engagement platform that connects employees and/or teams through Slack and Microsoft Teams for virtual coffee chats or in-person outings. The platform also facilitates watercooler conversations by suggesting topics out of hundreds of LEAD’s watercooler topics. The platform aims to reduce the social strain of remote work and it can be used to introduce new recruits, connect disparate teams for cross-departmental collaboration, connect employees for informal learning and mentorship programs, and DE&I initiatives.

LEAD enables HR teams to customize the matching settings and users to discover connections based on skills, interests, and other keywords. Its AI-driven software learns from previous interactions to suggest suitable connections while prioritizing those who are unlikely to know each other. The company’s product pipeline (as of July 2022) includes the introduction of new onboarding tools and survey templates as well as new features for connectivity and data visualization.
