Mycelium

Mycelium is a company that offers a digital wallet called the Mycelium Wallet for cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin SV, Litecoin, and Tether. Launched in 2012, the Mycelium Wallet has become one of the most widely used digital wallets globally, with over 2.2 million downloads on the Android and Apple app stores as of August 2020. The platform had an active user base of over 235,000 users facilitating over 10,000 daily cryptocurrency transactions as of August 2020.

In August 2020, Mycelium partnered with BlocPal International, a fintech and blockchain technology company, to enhance the crypto-fiat features in their next-generation Mycelium Wallet. This upgraded wallet will provide users with more options to use their cryptocurrencies for traditional fiat banking and payment-related services. The partnership will enable Mycelium users in the US and Canada to obtain a Mycelium credit card that can be loaded from their Mycelium wallet balances, with plans to roll out the credit card offering to users across Europe, the UK, and South America later.

The integrated Mycelium Wallet will allow users to create native BlocPal blockchain wallet addresses and deposit various cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin SV, Litecoin, and Tether, to their wallet addresses for conducting instant transactions. Users will be able to load their virtual and physical Mycelium credit cards using the deposited crypto funds for transactions with merchants worldwide, recharge airtime minutes in over 132 countries, make bill payments, and pay with crypto instantly at any merchant participating in the BlocPal merchant network.
