Abstract

Abstract is a platform designed to provide version control for Sketch files, streamlining the design collaboration process. It allows designers to centralize their files, create branches for exploration, and merge changes seamlessly, ensuring that the latest version is always accessible. This eliminates the need to search through multiple storage solutions like Dropbox or Google Drive. Abstract supports real-time collaboration, enabling multiple designers to work on the same file simultaneously without losing the original version. It also offers tools to track changes, compare versions, and resolve conflicts, making it easier to manage design iterations and maintain context throughout the project.

In February 2020, Abstract acquired Flawless App, a mobile design startup. 

Funding and financials

In March 2019, Abstract raised USD 30 million in funding led by Lightspeed Venture Partners with participation from previous investors Scale Venture Partners, Amplify Partners and Cowboy Ventures. The funds were allocated for product improvement through increased features and enhanced security.
