Weaver

Weaver is a SaaS platform that matches homeowners and architects with vetted contractors and allows them to compare prices and obtain quotes without using manual research. Weaver also acts as a contract negotiation platform with features to facilitate communication, document exchange, and on-site meeting scheduling. The company manually vets contractors before onboarding them and continually reviews their work and any other concerns (e.g.signs of insolvency) and acts as a troubleshooter to resolve any problems encountered during projects. The company also partners with third-party firms to provide architectural drawings to homeowners that do not use traditional architects for their projects.

Weaver generates revenue through a “success fee” (1%-7% of contract value) charged from contractors who win projects on the platform, an access fee from homeowners and architects (pricing based on the level of support from Weaver), and referral fees from renovation loan providers who partner with Weaver customers. In 2021, orders on the platform grew by 2.6x year-over-year. As of March 2022, Weaver has processed over USD 120 million worth of construction contracts and has ~400 contractor companies, ~300 architect firms, and ~900 homeowners/individual users on its platform.

In March 2022 , Weaver raised USD 4 million in a seed funding round led by btov Partners. The fresh funds have been allocated to be used to expand Weaver’s platform in the UK and for product development. Weaver also has plans to expand operations to Germany and the US by the end of 2023.
