Capital.com offers a commission-free platform for trading shares and spread betting on its web and mobile platforms. It also offers the trading of cryptocurrency, foreign exchange, and commodities using contracts for difference (CFDs). The company claims that its AI-powered trading platform detects users’ trading biases and patterns. Capital.com accounts can also be integrated with MetaTrader 4, an electronic foreign exchange trading platform that offers additional technical analysis tools and automated trading. The platform trading volume reached USD 225 billion with over 1 million new user accounts created in Q2 2022. As of July 2022, Capital.com served around 6.4 million users from over 180 countries.
The platform requires a minimum deposit of USD 20 and allows users to trade on margin, with no charges for deposit and withdrawal costs. It is monetized on spreads (the difference in Buy and Sell prices) and overnight fees on instruments. It is registered in the UK, Australia, Belarus, and Cyprus, and regulated by the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus.
Funding and financials
Capital.com raised USD 25 million in a Series A funding round led by Larnabel Enterprises in July 2017. The company intended to use the fresh funds to launch its mobile trading app and an educational app, Investmate, for new traders.
