Key customers and partnerships
Rothy’s entered into a partnership with water company Evian (September 2021) to deploy its plastic recycling technology to recycle the latter's water bottles and convert them into a tennis-focused capsule collection of bags and tennis wear. In August 2022, the two companies announced the launch of a limited-edition, tennis-inspired capsule collection made with repurposed evian water bottles.
Funding and financials
In December 2021, Rothy’s secured a strategic investment of USD 475 million from Brazilian lifestyle company Alpargatas (which owns the flip-flop brand Havaianas), which gave the latter 49.9% ownership of Rothy’s. Through the funds raised, Rothy’s planned to expand into global markets, increasing retail presence and attracting more customers.
