AbleTo was founded in 2008 by Michael B. Laskoff, who suffered from Attention Deficit Disorder. It offers 8-week virtual therapy programs consisting of digital well-being tools and one-on-one therapy (an initial session with a duration of 60 minutes and weekly follow-up sessions lasting 45 minutes each) with a licensed professional. The company focuses on mental conditions such as stress, anxiety, and depression.
In June 2021, AbleTo launched several new product offerings on its platform including a care navigation tool, an integrated app to access its products, and enhanced features for its Therapy+ programs. The new tools are designed to provide a more customized approach to mental healthcare. AbleTo’s new program feature includes digital activities that will be available to members on a weekly basis. The therapist will evaluate the patient progress and provide feedback during the therapy session. The new enhancement will be available with its depression program and will be implemented across all Therapy+ programs in 2022.
Since the pandemic started, AbleTo has seen a 25% increase in the number of people using its services. The company leverages analytics to identify individuals with unmet behavioral health needs and offers members access to personalized virtual therapy. The company also claims to have a reach of 30 million covered members through its partnerships with health plans and employers as of March 2022. Its latest funding round took place in August 2017, where it raised USD 36.6 million in a Series D funding round that was earmarked for scaling and expanding its business operations.
