UVision Air Ltd. is an Israeli company that designs and manufactures combat-proven loitering munition systems for military customers worldwide. The company specializes in developing a range of lethal aerial loitering systems, including the Hero family of loitering munitions. These systems are designed to provide militaries with precise and effective operational attack capabilities for complex, dynamic environments. UVision's products incorporate advanced airborne guidance, unique cruciform configurations, navigation systems, abort and recovery capabilities, and embedded simulators.
The Hero family of loitering munitions includes various models designed for different tactical and strategic targets, ranging from short to long-range applications. These systems can be deployed from air, land, and sea platforms, offering flexible mission profiles and long endurance. For instance, the Hero-30 is a portable 3kg system ideal for anti-personnel missions with a 30-minute loiter time. The larger Hero-120 carries a 4.5kg warhead and has a 60-minute flight time, suitable for anti-tank missions. The Hero-400EC, an innovative all-electric precision-guided system, offers a two-hour flight time and a 150km line-of-sight range.
In recent years, UVision has expanded its operations globally, particularly in the US. In December 2021, the company leased a 25,000 sq ft production and training facility in Virginia to manufacture and assemble loitering munitions for US government and international customers. Production of the Hero series at this facility was scheduled to begin in mid-2022. UVision has also established UVision US, a fully owned subsidiary, to enhance its ability to interact with partners and customers in the US market.
UVision continues to innovate and expand its product line. In June 2023, the company unveiled new systems including the Hero-90, Hero-900, and Hero-1250, as well as the Viper system developed by SpearUAV, a company in which UVision acquired shares in May 2022. The Hero-90, weighing 9kg at launch, was developed as an intermediate system between the Hero-30 and Hero-120, offering a balance of portability and effectiveness against armored targets.
