Vayu Aerospace Corporation is a subsidiary of Alpine four Holdings (ALPP), a Nasdaq-traded conglomerate. Vayu specializes in developing and manufacturing autonomous drones and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for various applications. The company has several drone models, including the US-1, US-2, and G1.
Vayu's flagship product is the G1 MKIII Fixed Wing UAV, capable of carrying payloads for surveillance, analysis, and aerial monitoring in industries like agriculture, energy, and defense. In February 2022, Vayu integrated ElecJet's solid-state battery into the G1, dubbed the "Vayu A4M1 Power System," enhancing the drone's flight capabilities with heavier payloads and improved safety features like fire resistance and puncture tolerance. The battery also enables fast charging at a 4C rate, allowing a 15-minute charge time.
In March 2022, Vayu entered a procurement agreement with ENSCO, a provider of engineering and technology solutions for defense, security, and aerospace sectors, to supply the US-1 drone. By July 2023, Vayu received its first USD 5.25 million purchase order from All American Contracting Solutions, a US government contractor, as part of a USD 100 million supply agreement for ten G1 MKIII drones. The order included warranties, pilot training, and delivery scheduled for Q4 2023 and Q1 2024.
Key customers and partnerships
In March 2022, Vayu partnered with DRONEDEK, a company specializing in smart mailboxes for autonomous drone deliveries. The partnership aimed to create a new ecosystem for safer and more secure last-mile drone package delivery. Vayu's US-1 drone successfully delivered to DRONEDEK's smart mailbox during a demonstration.
