Mattermost has been adopted by organizations across various industries, including government entities, healthcare providers, and financial institutions, where security and compliance are critical. Notable customers include the US Department of Defense, CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research), and Wargaming.

In April 2024, the company partnered with Parabol to drive advancements in AI-acceleration across agile toolchains. In September 2023, the company had also announced some public-sector focused partnerships with companies such as Contegix, Mobius Logic, SOSi, and Defense Unicorns. 

Funding and Financials

In June 2019, Mattermost raised USD 50 million in a round led by Y Combinator’s Continuity Fund, with participation from Battery Ventures, Redpoint and S28 Capital. The raised funds were used to accelerate Mattermost’s community expansion and product development and workforce growth.  This funding follows a USD 20 million series A in February and a USD 3.5 million seed round in February 2017 and brings the company’s total raised to roughly USD 70 million.
