GoTo Global is a multimodal mobility company that provides shared micromobility and car-sharing services through a single app. Founded in 2008 in Israel, the company operates in Spain, Israel, Malta, and Germany, offering users access to a fleet of cars, mopeds, scooters, and bikes. As of 2022, GoTo Global had 5,800 vehicles accessed by over 450,000 subscribers, with nearly 3 million rides reported in 2021 and USD 22 million in revenue.
GoTo Global's business model revolves around leasing vehicles from companies like Renault, Toyota, Nio, and Segway instead of purchasing its own fleet. This approach allows the company to enjoy arbitrage by renting out assets for a short period and then renting them back to users, generating profits through the price difference. GoTo Global aims to facilitate all types of transport within its ecosystem, integrating ride-sharing companies and public transit agencies to create a holistic mobility experience.
In October 2021, GoTo Global acquired German moped-sharing operator Emmy, expanding its presence in Germany with over 3,000 mopeds in cities like Berlin, Hamburg, and Munich. The company expects to earn USD 35 million in revenue by the end of 2022, a 58% increase from the previous year.
In February 2022, GoTo Global announced plans to go public on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange through a merger with shell company Nera Tech Media, valuing the combined entity at USD 163 million. The merger, which is expected to close in April 2022, will provide GoTo Global with USD 12 million in cash assets from Nera Tech and additional funds raised through a pre-IPO round.
