In February 2018, Barracuda Networks was acquired by the private equity firm Thoma Bravo for a cash consideration valued at USD 1.6 billion.
Barracuda Networks bundles its Cloud Application Protection platform with its Web Application Firewall (WAF) solution to provide threat intelligence, bot protection, Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) protection, client-side protection, API protection, identity and access control for private, hybrid, and public cloud deployments. The company also provides two cloud-security products Barracuda Essentials and Barracuda Sentinel for Office 365 users.

The company experienced strong sales growth in Q4 FY2021, driven by innovations in email and data protection solutions—reporting revenue growth of 112% YoY in cloud-to-cloud backup solutions, and revenue growth of 65% YoY in email protection solutions across the EMEA regions.
Barracuda Networks announced the acquisition of the extended detection and response (XDR) service company Skout Cybersecurity for an undisclosed amount in 2021.
