Founded in 2012, Azuga offers a fleet monitoring and management platform for companies with large vehicle fleets in industries including construction, utilities, and waste management, etc. Azuga also offers a telematics service which measures driving behavior and external factors such as weather and road conditions to develop a scoring model that leverages data from more than 3,500 commercial fleets—which have collectively clocked 4.5 billion (as of March 2021) miles—to assess policy holders and reduce risk levels for insurers.
In March 2021, Azuga acquired Mobikit for an undisclosed amount. Mobikit, founded in 2018, offers a telematics platform for companies operating in the insurance and automotive industries. For insurance providers, Mobikit’s platform integrates telematics to their processes, enabling them to use driver behavior data for claim processing and underwriting. Following the transaction, Azuga will integrate Mobikit’s solutions with its own offerings in order to improve its data analytics capabilities by combining its driver performance data with Mobikit’s machine learning algorithms. This will enable Azuga to provide insurers with the deeper insights required for processing claims and underwriting policies.
