Skiptown

Skiptown (founded as The Waggle Co., rebranded as Skipper in 2018, and again as Skiptown in 2020) is an on-demand pet care services provider. The company provides dog walking, boarding, and daycare facilities for pets via its mobile app. Skiptown’s tech platform also streamlines account and booking management, creates daily visit reports, and pairs dogs with playgrounds based on personality types. The company’s primary facility, a 24,000 sq ft dog park in Charlotte, North Carolina opened in August 2020 has served more than 10,000 clients and more than 12,000 dogs as of January 2021. Skiptown has also registered over 35,000 visits to its bar and park. The company was severely hit by the Covid-19 pandemic with 80 employees laid off. However, the founder has managed to rehire some staff, operating with 70 employees as of December 2020. In January 2021, the company announced plans to expand its services to Dallas, Atlanta, and Nashville by the end of 2022.
