MindsDB

MindsDB is an open-source AI database middleware that enables organizations to integrate various AI models with traditional databases and data management systems. The platform allows developers to create AI-powered applications by connecting different data sources to leading AI models without requiring specialized AI/ML expertise. MindsDB functions as a federated query engine that brings AI and data together, enabling users to customize AI workflows and obtain real-time predictions.

The platform has over 200 integrations to data sources and AI/ML frameworks, allowing developers to connect virtually any data source to AI models. MindsDB abstracts AI models as GenAI tables within databases, eliminating the need for complex extract, transform, load (ETL) pipelines and deployment processes. Users can manage models and implement custom automation flows using standard SQL queries rather than requiring deep technical knowledge of machine learning.

In September 2024, MindsDB launched Minds, a turnkey private conversational AI system designed to reason and orchestrate across real-time and historical enterprise data. 

Key customers and partnerships

As of 2023, MindsDB's Pro Cloud service was being used by more than 100  startups and small-to-medium sized businesses, including companies like Bytes, Dumuso, JourneyFoods, Progressify, Precise Finance, and Rize. Further, financial services platform Domuso utilized MindsDB to reduce chargebacks by USD 95,000 over two months, resulting in annual savings of USD 500,000. 

The platform achieved over 300,000 open-source deployments and garnered support from a community of more than 25,000 code contributors (December 2024).

MindsDB established partnerships with major technology companies and maintained integrations with platforms like OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face, LangChain, Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Snowflake.
