In October 2024, Ribbon demonstrated its 9408 compact modular platform featuring 400G ZR+ and 800G ZR+ capabilities on a single sled at NGON/NetworkX. The platform will enable operators to support metro and long-haul transport on a single module. As of October 2024, the company has developed 1,000 patents.
The company has strengthened its product offering through acquisitions. In 2018, Ribbon acquired Edgewater Networks, a provider of network Edge orchestration solutions for small and medium enterprises and unified communications markets. In 2019, it acquired Anova Data, a provider of advanced analytics solutions.
