Innovasea is a global provider of technologically advanced aquatic solutions for aquaculture and fish tracking. The company offers a comprehensive suite of products and services for fish farming and aquatic species research, including equipment, consulting services, and innovative platforms. Innovasea's product line encompasses open ocean aquaculture feeding systems, submersible aquaculture systems, fish tracking solutions, acoustic transmitters and receivers, dataloggers, hydrophones, acoustic release solutions, and environmental sensors. These sensors monitor various parameters such as water temperature, dissolved oxygen, salinity, chlorophyll, blue-green algae, and turbidity.
The company's cloud-based aquaculture management software provides deep insights into farm operations, allowing users to access real-time data updates on multiple aspects of fish farm operations. Innovasea's automated monitoring and control systems track parameters like dissolved oxygen levels, temperature, salinity, carbon dioxide concentration, and pH balance. The system can inject oxygen at critical moments to maintain an optimum rearing environment and prevent fish mortality in emergencies.
In May 2023, Innovasea acquired Aquanetix, a UK-based aquaculture software company founded in 2015. This acquisition expanded Innovasea's capabilities in farm management software. As of May 2023, Aquanetix's software was in use at more than 200 farms across 31 countries, supporting the cultivation of over 30 species of fish and shrimp. In August 2023, Innovasea announced that its AI-driven biomass estimation solution, BiomassPro, became available for use with Atlantic salmon. BiomassPro provides real-time estimates of fish stock size and weight, helping farms optimize production, reduce feeding costs, and improve resource planning and sales forecasting.
Innovasea has expanded its operations globally. In 2020, the company opened a full-service office in Puerto Varas, Chile. In June 2023, Innovasea established a new office in Corinth, Greece, to better serve markets in the Mediterranean and Middle East. As of May 2024, Innovasea expanded its Chilean operations to offer land-based aquaculture solutions, including drum and disc filters for water quality control, UV sterilization and ozone disinfection tools, automated feeding systems, and gas management technologies.
