Future Biogas

Future Biogas is a company that specializes in biomethane production and anaerobic digestion (AD) plant management. They operate AD plants that process crops and farm manures to generate biomethane, a renewable source of energy. Their approach involves growing crops for anaerobic digestion, which helps farming businesses achieve a neutral or even negative carbon footprint. The crops are established using methods that minimize soil disturbance, and the gaps between energy and food crops are filled with cover crops that hold plant nutrients, water, and help build soil organic matter.

After processing the crops and manures in the AD plants, Future Biogas provides the resulting digestate back to the fields that produced the crops, which adds plant nutrition and contributes to soil health, stability, and vibrancy. Future Biogas offers comprehensive AD biology support, training, bespoke laboratory testing services, and data interpretation. They have developed an additive called T16, which enhances nutrient and bio-availability, currently supporting the consistent production of 9,000 m3 of biogas per hour across several AD plants in the UK as of May 2021. Additionally, their operations and engineering teams provide technical assistance to third parties operating biogas plants.
