bloXroute Labs

bloXroute Labs is blockchain scalability and DeFi infrastructure provider. The company acts as a blockchain distribution network (BDN) that uses a global network of servers optimized for network performance (low latency) enabling higher on-chain throughput. bloXroute also uses internal caching to reduce the data within a block, translating to less data being transmitted throughout the network. 

The company’s solutions are compatible with any blockchain, as they improve scalability at the network layer without the need for any protocol changes. Nodes can connect to the bloXroute network through open-source gateways, while individual users can connect to it through the bloXroute public API. As of April 2024, bloXroute BDN was deployed on the Ethereum, Polygon, and Binance Smart Chain (BSC) networks.

bloXroute claims its services allow users to receive mempool data 50–200 ms faster than other mempool services and new blocks up to 1,000 ms faster than the peer-to-peer network. The company also claims users can propagate transactions 400–600 ms faster through its network while gaining protection from frontrunning.

Key customers and partnerships

In April 2023, bloXroute partnered with Drift Protocol, a decentralized exchange, to integrate it into bloXroute's “Solana Trader” application programming interface (API). This enables users to trade on Solana without running their own nodes and provides them access to retail volume on Drift's exchange. 

Funding and financials

In April 2022, bloXroute raised USD 70 million in a Series B funding round led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2. It planned to use the funds for recruitment.
