S-Cube is a technology company that specializes in developing algorithms and solutions for the energy industry, particularly in the exploration and production (E&P) sector. One of the key advantages of the XWI algorithm is its ability to maintain predictive power and alignment with downhole measurements up to depths of 4 km, where standard techniques typically falter. This capability helps energy companies reduce drilling risk, avoid costly dry holes, and maximize resource recovery.

In August 2019, the XWI algorithm played a crucial role in enabling Tullow Oil to discover oil at its Jethro-1 well in Guyana. By enhancing the quality score from 57% to 75% and narrowing uncertainty in sea floor position and density ratio, the XWI solution assisted Tullow Oil in gaining a competitive edge in the E&P sector.

Key customers and partnerships

In addition to Tullow Oil, S-Cube has collaborated with other major energy companies, such as Chevron, on projects leveraging the XWI algorithm. For instance, S-Cube generated a 3D velocity model from seismic data for the Chevron-operated Jansz field, part of the offshore Gorgon project in Australia, one of the largest and costliest energy projects globally. The XWI model achieved layer-by-layer downhole validation with the Jansz-3 and Io-1 wells, enabling optimized well placement decisions for the project's second phase.
