Stockholm-based Hedvig provides homeowners and renters insurance via a mobile app in Sweden, Denmark and Norway. It also launched pet insurance coverage in Sweden in April 2023, in partnership with FirstVet, an on-demand veterinary service provider.
Customers can also file for claims through the app, and the company claims it can manage claims within eight minutes. The company operated under a managing general agent (MGA) model until March 2021, when it obtained an EU carrier license allowing it to write its own insurance policies and expand across the region.
