Syntiant offers edge-focused deep learning solutions via a combination of specialized processor architecture, an edge-optimized data platform, and a training pipeline for always-on edge AI applications. Syntiant’s “Neural Decision” neural network processors (NDPs) combine low power with high performance to support edge AI applications across a wide range of consumer and industrial use cases, such as earbuds, wearables, smartphones, smart speakers, laptops, automobiles, and internet-of-things (IoT).
The company claims that its NDPs typically offer more than 100x efficiency improvement while providing a greater than 10x increase in throughput compared to other low-power MCU-based solutions. As of March 2022, the company reported that it had over 50 customer engagements.

Syntiant has partnered with several companies to launch industry-focused solutions. It partnered with Renesas Electronics to develop a voice-controlled multimodal solution for image processing in vision AI-based IoT and edge systems (July 2021), with CeramicSpeed to develop low-power autonomous sensors for Industrial IoT applications (January 2022) and with Eatron Technologies to deliver an AI-Ready battery management system (November 2022). Syntiant has also partnered with Tekro to grow its sales in South Korea (August 2021) .
Funding and financials
In March 2022, Syntiant raised USD 55 million in new funding to invest in enhancing software capabilities and accelerating deployment of the company’s third-generation Syntiant Core 3 architecture (which was expected to launch in 2023).
