Crowdcube

Crowdcube is an award-winning equity crowdfunding platform headquartered in Exeter, UK. Established in 2011, it operates a sector-agnostic platform that enables individuals to invest in start-ups, early-stage, and growth businesses in exchange for equity stakes. The platform facilitates equity investments as well as convertible loans across Europe, with over 25% of its pitches coming from businesses based outside the UK.

In 2021, Crowdcube facilitated 234 announced funding rounds amounting to GBP 198 million invested into UK companies, making it the most active investor in the UK equity market that year. The company does not exclusively invest in companies eligible for government tax relief schemes like EIS or SEIS. Individual investors can purchase equity stakes for as little as GBP 10.

Crowdcube allows entrepreneurs to register and pitch for free on its platform. Once a business successfully raises its target funding amount, Crowdcube charges a fee of 7%, along with a 1.65% investment fee and a 5% fee on any profits made by investors. It was a founding member of the UK Crowdfunding Association.
