The company operates a 1.3-hectare photobioreactor system in Flevoland, Netherlands, making it the leading European producer of this marine phytoplankton. AlgaSpring's product line includes NannoStar for aquaculture and NutriSpring for food applications, both of which are 100% Dutch quality marine phytoplankton. The company's production process utilizes ancient seawater extracted from deep below the surface, which is free from contamination and heavy metals. AlgaSpring employs an environmentally friendly cultivation method, using no pesticides or herbicides, and relies on natural algal strains, pure water, and nutrient sources. The microalgae are grown in a mono-specific culture under controlled conditions, with optimum provision of nutrients, CO2, light, and mixing.
