Bitski is a blockchain wallet infrastructure provider that enables creators, brands, and platforms to easily create, sell, and purchase non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Founded in 2016, the company developed tools for Web3 developers and collaborated with prominent brands such as Adidas, Major League Soccer (MLS), and WWE. Bitski's platform allowed mainstream brands to bypass the complexities of crypto and sell digital assets like Augmented Reality skins, art drops, and tokens. The company's wallet infrastructure provided users with the ability to buy, sell, and trade virtual goods using just an email and password, eliminating the need for complicated seed phrases or keys.
Bitski's wallet offered features such as the Bitski Vault, a hardware-secured system for asset protection, simplified signing and transaction screens, and notifications for blockchain activity. The platform also introduced a 'Blockchain Transaction operator' to reduce transaction times from around 15 minutes to just one minute. In May 2024, Bitski was acquired by Phantom, a crypto and NFT wallet focused on Solana. Following the acquisition, Bitski's team and products were integrated into Phantom's offerings, with the goal of expanding reach and streamlining Web3 onboarding.
Key customers and partnerships
Bitski partnered with Blackhawk Network, a global branded payments provider, to distribute the first promotion for an NFT with the purchase of a gift card. This collaboration, which also involved AMC Theatres, allowed customers who purchased an AMC Theatres gift card of USD 50 or more to receive a limited-edition NFT. The company also teamed up with streetwear brand PLEASURES for a digital fashion collaboration titled "WAGMI," which included digital wearables for use in games. In April 2022, Bitski worked with artist Jon Shelley (Kryptoz) to create exclusive NFTs for a promotion with Giftcards.com.
