Emotive

Emotive is a text message marketing platform that uses a blend of AI coupled with human assistance to provide personalized marketing messages and two-way communications with target customers. It claims to be the first human-to-human text message marketing platform and is geared for brands retailing on popular ecommerce platforms such as Shopify, BigCommerce, and WooCommerce. Emotive can be applied in a variety of use cases, including product recommendations, customer service, and sales promotion. The platform also has 20+ technology integrations connecting it to the rest of a firm’s marketing stack. As of October 2021, Emotive’s clients include Parade, Beardbrand, and Alfred.

According to the firm, its personalized messaging platform, which blends AI with human assistance, converts on average 8–10% of customers compared to generic, one-way text message blasts, which have, on average, a 1–2% success rate.

In February 2021, Emotive raised USD 50 million in Series B funding led by CRV and was valued at USD 400 million. Prior to that, in May 2020 it raised USD 8.2 million in Series A funding led by Mucker Capital. Emotive’s plans for the funding include investing in the platform and launching new products while extending its lead over its peers in this space.
