Oneka Technologies, a Canadian wave-powered desalination provider, has raised CAD 12.5 million in the first part of its Series A funding round. The investment was led by the Hoffecker family and included Horizon Capital Holdings, AQC Capital, the Wilson family, Propulia Capital, and Invest Nova Scotia. The funds will be used to expand the company's product offering, complete commercial projects in the US and Chile, and grow its manufacturing, R&D, sales, and project management teams. Oneka Technologies plans to accept an additional CAD 10 million in capital by the end of 2023 to meet the increasing demand for desalination solutions.
