Yellowbrick Data provides a SQL data warehouse platform designed for large-scale data analytics. The platform enables enterprises to run complex queries on live data at petabyte scale through a cloud-native architecture built on Kubernetes. The data warehouse separates compute and storage, with all data stored in cloud object storage like AWS S3, while compute resources are elastically scaled through Kubernetes clusters. Through its architecture, Yellowbrick delivers high-performance query processing by optimizing low-level system components including network interfaces, storage drivers, and memory management. The platform allows customers to deploy the data warehouse in their own cloud accounts across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, giving them full control over their data infrastructure. For data security and sovereignty requirements, Yellowbrick also enables on-premises deployment through what it calls a Private Data Cloud model. The platform is compatible with PostgreSQL and features workload management capabilities that allow truly ad-hoc analytics environments while maintaining fair resource allocation for interactive users. As of March 2024, Yellowbrick has integrated Intel's Data Plane Development Kit (DPDK) technology, which enables zero-copy networking and can improve query performance by up to 70% through optimized data exchange between worker nodes.
