Techniplas offers end-to-end on-demand additive manufacturing (AM) solutions, making decorative parts, functional components, and high-precision parts targeting automotive components, lighting applications, and decorative solutions. The company uses advanced plastic manufacturing technology for back injection of stainless steel and polymer foils, with a finishing touch and a range of design possibilities, also offering surface solutions for automotive interior, automotive exterior, healthcare equipment, etc. Techniplas’ other products include back injection of foils, ColorFuse, lighting, MuCell, multi-shot injection molding, post-processes, and thermoset molding processes.
Key customers and partnerships
In 2017, Techniplas Digital partnered with AM solutions provider Digital Wax Systems (DWS) to enhance the company’s AM capabilities. It also partnered with autonomous topology optimization provider ParaMatters, which joined as a member of its Open Innovation Program. As of May 2022, Techniplas Digital had around 250 customers with operations in 25+ global sites including the US, Australia, Mexico, Brazil, Spain, China, France, South Africa, India, the Netherlands, and Slovakia.
Funding and financials
Techniplas Digital raised USD 57.3 million from a venture round in July 2020, following an ownership change where the company had to sell its assets to some of its existing investors.
