Voi Technology is a Swedish micro-mobility company that provides electric scooter sharing services across Europe. The company operates a fleet of e-scooters in partnership with cities and local communities, offering an affordable, sustainable, and convenient mode of transportation. Voi's latest e-scooter model, the Voiager 4, boasts a lifespan of over five years or 26,000 km and incorporates several safety features such as indicator lights, improved suspension, and sub-meter location accuracy.
In January 2024, Voi launched a large-scale pilot of computer vision technology on its e-scooters in Northampton, UK. Developed in collaboration with Irish startup Luna, this technology can detect when an e-scooter rides on a pavement or is parked incorrectly, alerting the rider with an audible alarm. The pilot aims to address issues like pavement riding and improper parking, while providing valuable data insights to cities for infrastructure planning.
Voi prides itself on being a carbon-neutral company since January 2020 and is committed to sustainability efforts. In Copenhagen, where it resumed operations in October 2021 after winning a tender, Voi's e-scooters are powered by green energy from Ørsted's offshore wind turbines, and battery changes are performed using electric cargo bikes.
