Users can upload and organize their personal health data, including fitness information from wearables, lab results, and medication lists. The platform also features tools like My Collections, which allows users to group and share relevant HealthJournals, and StoryMD Author, a visual editing application for creating and sharing custom HealthJournals.

As of 2023, StoryMD had expanded its offerings to include a centralized, personalized healthcare experience that combines users' health data into a single platform. The company utilizes various technologies in its ecosystem, including React for the web portal, Spring Services with Hibernate for back-end services, and AWS for serverless implementation. StoryMD adheres to Health Level Seven (HL7) standards for data transferring and sharing between healthcare providers and Electronic Health Records.
