Sana Benefits

Texas-based Sana Benefits is a tech-driven startup that provides simplified health plans for small and medium businesses and individuals. Members have access to a range of digital healthcare options such as telehealth, maternity care, and mental health care through partnerships with digital health tech companies. The company’s pilot primary care clinic located in Austin (Texas), Sana MD, will focus on preventive care services including diabetes education, wellness coaching, weight loss, and chronic disease management.

As of June 2022, Sana operated in eight states including Arizona, Oklahoma, Texas, Illinois, and Kentucky. The company also plans to invest in digital health offerings, care navigation, and building a new network of providers to launch its upcoming primary care clinic in Austin. As of the same month, the firm had 20,000 members on its health plan and had tripled the number of customers over the last year.

In June 2022, the firm raised USD 60 million in a Series B funding round co-led by Trust Ventures and Gigafund, doubling its valuation since its last funding round in October 2021.  The funds were allocated towards expanding its geographical footprint and hiring additional staff. The firm also planned to enhance its digital healthcare offering and care navigation service, as well as open primary care centers outside of Austin.
