Visma

Visma provides software solutions that digitize and simplify business processes in accounting and administration areas of private and public sector organizations. Visma’s offerings also include HR administration services to digitize stages of the employee lifecycle, payroll services with multi-device functionality, recruitment and candidate experience services, talent management, and workforce management solutions. The Visma Group operates in Scandinavia, the Benelux region, and Central and Eastern Europe with over 14,000 employees. In 2021, the Group’s net turnover was over EUR 2.1 billion (approx. USD 2.5 billion).

In February 2022, Visma acquired Appical, a Dutch HR Tech solutions provider, for an undisclosed amount. Appical’s mobile and web app provides how-to videos, games, quizzes, to-do lists, and documentation to guide new employees through the employee lifecycle, from onboarding to internal transitions and offboarding. As of February 2022, Appical was used by 360+ customers in 140+ countries, and growing with 300,000+ new users annually. Its customer base includes the likes of PepsiCo, HP, HelloFresh, and Amsterdam UMC. As per the terms of the deal, Appical will continue to operate as an independent entity under the Visma Group and will enter into partnerships with other Visma Group companies to improve its offering and expand further in Europe.

Visma has an acquisition-focused growth strategy and its other recent acquisitions in the HRM and payroll space include Acubiz (December 2021), a Danish expense management solution that which held ~20% market share in Denmark and a growing share in emerging markets as of December 2021, Dialog (November 2021), a Dutch performance and employee engagement platform that allows employees to create personal plans, and request feedback from colleagues and customers throughout the year to improve engagement and performance, Nmbrs (May 2020), an HR and payroll services provider with a presence in the Netherlands, Sweden, and Portugal, and over 160,000 clients processing over USD 1 billion dollars per month using its platform as of May 2020, and Bluegarden Group (September 2017), a payroll and HRM services provider with a strong presence in the Scandinavian market with ~65,000 customers.
