Sympatient

German-based Sympatient is a provider of treatment for anxiety disorders and claims to be building the world’s first Digital Anxiety Clinic. The company’s digital psychotherapy treatment, called “Invirto”, can be used at-home through virtual reality to provide treatment for conditions such as panic disorders, agoraphobia, and other social phobias. Invirto is combined with psychotherapists or doctors for in-person or virtual consultations after sessions. Individuals also gain access to Invitro’s app which hosts the virtual consultations, shares data analytics with patients on their treatment and provides digital tools to supplement treatment. 

The company operates on a B2B2C basis, where it works with healthcare providers and health plans to provide its services. 

Funding and financials

In September 2022, the company raised EUR 7.5 million (USD 7.4 million) in a Series A funding round led by Verve Ventures along with participation from other angel and individual investors including previous investors. The funds were set aside to launch a Digital Anxiety Clinic care where it will provide solutions across the continuum of care for patients diagnosed with anxiety disorders from diagnosis, to therapy, to aftercare. The company also announced it was carrying out studies on its aftercare program.
