Voyant Photonics develops chip-scale 3D LiDAR sensors for applications including autonomous vehicles, drones, robotics, and factory automation. It uses semiconductor fabrication processes that can combine optical and electrical components onto a single chip.
Voyant Photonic’s LiDAR product portfolio includes 1) Voyant Guide, a LiDAR solution with a range of up to 480 meters and a Field of View (FoV) of 60x20 degrees; 2) Voyant Blue, a compact LiDAR system with a range up to 95 meters range and an FoV of 90 x 30 degrees; and 3) Voyant Forest, a medium range 4D LiDAR chip with a range of up to 75 meters and a FoV of 60x90 degrees.
It also provides “The Blue Development Kit,'' which provides customers early access to its LiDAR-on-a-chip solutions to create and test applications. The Blue Development Kit uses the same on-chip architecture, optics, and system design as the Blue product.
Voyant Photonics claims to be the only company demonstrating coherent imaging range sensors with on-chip beam steering in a field-deployable system.
As of February 2024, the company’s development kits were available for test applications.
Key customers and partnerships
In January 2024, Voyant Photonics partnered with NVIDIA to leverage the NVIDIA Isaac Sim, powered by the NVIDIA Omniverse development platform to enhance the simulation capabilities of its LiDAR sensors.
